"UTSIKT" / " Viewpoint"

Modellen till kommande verk vid namn "UTSIKT". Storleken framgår av proportionen till människor som står i öppningen. Jag funderar över olika tänkbara platser var den skulle komma till sin rätt. Som framgår av modellen ovan så är platsen en viktig del av idén.
This is a wooden model of a new project by name VIEWPOINT. The small figures show the actual size of the whole sculpture. I am considering different places where it could be raised. A beautiful background with a view to the horizon is an important part of the artiscic idea.

Detta projekt har pågått sedan 2009 då jag har kilat fram dessa gigantiska ögon direkt i brottet. Sedan har alla delarna sågats på olika vis. Och nu sedan förra året håller jag på med en viss bearbetning för hand. Det går ut på att få fram den avrundade formen i ögonpupillerna och en polerad yta som får färgen att träda fram på ett vackert sätt. Det är röd bohus granit.    I have started to work on this project in 2009, directly in the quarry where I have personally "extracted" these huge eyes out of the rocks. It was a hard work the whole summer of that year. Later on did I ship all the nine blocks of this coming sculpture to another quarry, to a saw. And right now, since the last year, I work on the sculpture by hand again, in my studio. It is Red Bohus granite.

Jag tar kort för att komma ihåg utseendet så att det blir likadant på andra sidan också.
I use to take pictures to memorize the appearance before the block shall be turned around and I`ll be working on the opposite side. The blocks always lye down when I work on them. 

När stenarna ligger ner så är det lite svårt att se riktigt hur det kommer att se ut när man till slut reser de. Därför är det alltid spännande när stenarna reses upp för första gången. Nu var det dags att vända  med en kranbil. It is difficult to see the whole appearance when the block is lying down. That´s why it´s always very exciting when the crane rises it for the first time and I can see how it actually looks.

Ja, det är fortfarande en del kvar att göra men med lite tur så sätts verket upp efter sommaren,
tror jag ...It´s not finished yet but maybe in the autumn. I am also waiting for the right place to raise it on. That will probably be on the island of Smögen. I´ll be back later on about it.
